Which Team Has The Best Shot At Beating the Packers?
The Patriots and Saints are the politically correct answers because of their potent offenses, however, the 49ers are made of the right ingredients. If Green bay and San Fran meet at Lambeau Field in late January, there’s a high chance of inclement weather and precipitation. In Al Roker-speak, that means snow.
The 49ers are built to play a grind-it-out game on the ground that won’t be affected by freezing temperatures. Defensively, the 49ers are impervious to the run and their pass defense is one of the stingiest in the NFL. Middle linebacker Patrick Willis covers the line of scrimmage from sideline to sideline and rookie outside linebacker who finished half a sack short of Jevon Kearse’s rookie sack record.

Is Mike McCarthy The NFL’s Most Underrated Coach?
After two trips to the NFC Championship, McCarthy is one of the brightest offensive minds in the game, however, his name is rarely mentioned among the likes of Belichick, Sean Peyton or even Jim Harbaugh.
Since taking over the Packers in 2006, McCarthy was gone 63-33. Sean Peyton has gone 62-34. Perhaps it has something to do with a combination of his low-key demeanor and Green Bay being the NFL’s smallest media market but McCarthy is rarely seen or discussed on camera. All he did this season was nearly coach the Packers to an undefeated season. The only thing McCarthy hasn’t done is lead two franchises to a Super Bowl in a single season. I wouldn’t bet against him though.

Did Matt Flynn’s Record Setting Performance Hurt Aaron Rodgers’ MVP Chances?
Siting out Week 16 while Drew Brees continued his non-violet assault on an unsuspecting record book was bound to backfire. However, having Matt Flynn throw for 480 yards, six touchdowns and one interception against a Detroit Lions defense that was playing each of it’s starters makes me question why we have to give a quarterback the MVP award every season.
In the process, Flynn improved his own free agent status and did so in fewer games than Matt Schaub and Matt Cassell. If you’re an NFL backup behind an All-Pro quarterback it’s in your best interests to change your first name to Matt.
Flynn’s success shows that the Packers system runs just as fluidly without Rodgers as it does with him. The Colt’s definitely can’t make that claim. On Sunday Matt Flynn won the Heisman Trophy for Brees.

Who Will Matt Flynn play for in 2011?
I don’t have any sources but I have an inkling Aaron Rodgers won’t be grooming Flynn past this year. The Redskins have been tossed around as a possible destination but they’ve got their sights set on a quarterback in April’s Draft while Good Rex and Bad Rex tutor whichever poor, confused quarterback falls into their lap.
Seattle, Denver and Miami have the motive and opportunity to sign Flynn
Looking back at most of the quarterbacks who emerge from nowhere to become successful quarterbacks, they all had legitimate reasons for being overlooked besides a paucity of talent. Flynn fits that mold.
Depsite showing flashes of the comeback kid, Joe Montana was hindered by the resignation of the legendary coach that recruited him to Notre Dame. Tom Brady had the unfortunate luck of arriving at Michigan at the height of the Drew Henson phenomenom. Matt Cassell started behind a pair of Heisman Trophy winners. Matt Flynn. Flynn was stuck between incumbent starter JaMarcus Russell and five-star recruit Ryan Perrilloux.
